Up graded security

Very vice words from @Jeetesh to my opinion.

Have a house a mile from a small city centre. There are 5x A2 s in my courtyard and one A6 4F2. I never lock any of them and my wallet is safely located in the console of one of them.
There is a silent surveillance system with audio that is 9 years old now.

The most describing situation I have noticed until now is this one:
One night, the movement sensor starts the video recording when 3x male and 1x female are passing into my gate. I can hear they are discussing; "what kind of cars are they.... aaahhhh thats the one with no bonnet, I have read about it.... very expensive , look at the grill... strange... no air will pass through there.... hhhmmmm....strange.... this one seems to have only 4 seats.... strange... "

They discussed the cars in the dark, well drunk... without making as much as a minor scratch, it was around 4 AM and they continued to search for their bed...

I feel very lucky to live in an area with minor issues with theft and vandalism.
If I should get up of my bed two times every night to check if any ar stepping on my land... I would be stressed and have very reduced life quality.

@WayneoA2 - it depends on who you are, and how you want live. Only you or those close to you can know whats best for you... ?

Cheers

Birmingham has got very on top lately regards car theft etc and it's just another part of me when I had subaru legacy turbos going back to 1997 .. . They were all very high on the theft list so mine was locked up like fort Knox. Disklok , pedal lock, and a full Clifford etc .. it's going to be a car I keep for a few years so I like to make the tea leaves think it's not worth the bother and move on to something else ..

The old skool steering wheel/disc lock has to be the way to go, with key decoders and how easy it is to swap the ecu for a immo off version make anything else a waste of time and money IMHO

I have a tracker fitted to my Macan, it costs £200 per year to subscribe and it saves £30 on insurance. Needless to say I never bothered subscribing once it ran out.

When I bought my A2 in 2005 it had a tracker installed so I paid the one-off fee to transfer it for my total ownership. I read in the handbook that insurance companies will give a discount. So I rang the insurance company and they said No Discount for an A2, only if you had an car like a merc, top end audi etc. So that was a waste of money!

Whether the tracker still works or not I don't know - probably not.

Ah, you bought the Norwich one! Hope your trip goes ok. Any other time, I'd have suggested saying hello and grabbing a coffee!
my mate booked my train ticket for wednesday by mistake so wednesday it is .. will be in Norwich about 1615 to meet Nick and do the deal so dare say i will be free after or it might be a bit late for you ?

I think I may be stuck in my spare room on work video calls I'm afraid, but will check and message you. Have a safe trip

I had a turquoise Honda Civic lsi as my first real car. I used to park next to an 80s Porsche in the belief that anyone with sense would steal the much more desirable and powerful car which can be nicked with a pocket knife. I also had a steering wheel lock fitted.

My car got stolen by joyriders and was involved in a petrol station drive off and a crash (which the thieves ran away from).

Moral - the world is full of idiots and never assume common sense or logic will prevail.

I had to steal the Porsche to get to work the next day...
