Many thanks for the kind words, Jon. Very pleased to read that you're delighted with my work. It seems I have a new nickname ...'TT', derived from 'Tom Timmus', I believe. :)

For those who aren't aware, my surname is not Timmus ...it's just what my sister used to call me when we were very small children. Her attempt to say 'Thomas' came out as 'Timmus', and it stuck!

Today I got my car back from Tom (timmus).

Having read the praise and quality of Tom’s workmanship on the forum, I knew that Tom was who I was going to get to undertake my retrofit upgrades.

I had a shortlist of must haves and nice to haves, this felt like I was speccing a new car, I was genuinely excited about my 16 year old car. We had a few conversations around the technical aspects and what I wanted to achieve and settled on the following:

Bose
Xcarlink Bluetooth integration
Colour DIS

Now, I’m a fan of the OEM look so the majority of the conversation was around colour DIS being the only thing that would be visible and obviously not OEM. Whilst I had standard DIS on my previous A2 I’m also now used to cars with significantly more information to hand and when I read through what it could do I was sold, better still it wasn’t much more than standard DIS. When driving it looks like a modern Audi drive computer and doesn't look out of place at all so very chuffed.

I’ve had the three items done and I’m now a huge fan of colour DIS, it allows me to check virtually everything and has a massive amount of configurability. The supergeek in me loves it.

So, I’ve been to timmus’ towers, had my upgrades done and I can concur with the professionalism, knowledge and the quality of workmanship that everyone raves about. I’m a perfectionist so naturally set incredibly high standards however Tom has exceeded these, Tom himself is a perfectionist too so knew my A2 was safe in his hands.

Thanks to Tom and would highly recommend his retrofit services.

P.S.

After leaving timmus towers and playing with Colour DIS for the first 39 miles I’d achieved 52.7mpg, decided to fill and properly see what my FSI could do and achieved 54mpg for the next 50 miles. What was spectacular here was that 10 of the 50 miles was start/stop due to an accident on the M62 (adding 1hr10mins to the journey). If this wasn’t the case I’m sure this would have been over 60mpg, and what Audi quoted for extra urban. Decent range too with a potential range of up to 550 miles if doing motorway miles (momentum 99, 42l tank)

I’m pleased with my upgrades and so so pleased my FSI is in rude health!! ????

Pics of two of the many screens for colour DIS.

As always, many, many thanks for the kind words. It's always nice to find that, having had my head buried in an A2 for a few days, people have been writing complimentary things about me online!

this felt like I was speccing a new car
This very neatly sums up how I like to think of the upgrade services that I offer. When I first joined A2OC, over a decade ago, I looked upon the highest spec' A2s and wished I also owned such a car. I made it my mission to be able to retrofit all the optional extras to factory standard such that new A2 owners didn't have to compromise. You don't have to choose between a low-spec A2 in superb condition and a high-spec A2 in poor condition, as Jeetesh's 26,000-mile A2 proves. You can buy a mint A2 and then select the optional extras you'd like ....just like buying a new car!

If you love your A2 but wish its original owner had checked the box for a certain optional extra, you know where to find me. Just don't ask for OpenSky or climate control. :p

Kind regards to all, and special thanks to Jeetesh.

Tom

Have you finished fitting your own upgrades yet Tom?...

Haha! The upgrades for my own A2 are always at the back of the queue ....so, unfortunately, my own DIS system, auto-dimming mirror, multifunction steering wheel and OEM parking sensor system are all still safely stored in my workshop rather than attached to my car. One day. One day. :)

As I travel around, the three most important things for me are Bose, cruise control and Sport seats ...and they were all fitted a long time ago!
