URGENT HELP PLEASE! 1.6 FSi cooling problem - head gasket?

Hi, the "MAP Cotnrolled" is implemented via a heating element. The heating element warms up the thermostat thus achieving an early activation. There is no solenoid, actuator, transducer or the like.

What would be the purpose of "early activation"? The purpose of a thermostat is to keep areas of the engine above a certain temperature. The FSi (1.4 and 1.6) has two thermostats, one for the block and one for the cylinder head, both in the same housing.

Afternoon RAB,

Note on page 2 of the SSP the document is applicable to the FSI 1.6 Golf & Bora, the A2 FSI 1.6 I believe is not the same in respect to the coolant circulation with only one thermostat.

I think Evripridis's "early activation" has an origin in the second SSP you just linked.
