User profile custom fields

I have started to add some custom fields to the user profile. Eventually we could create some useful functionality based upon this data.

Let me know if there are other fields that would be worth storing.

good site

Well what a vast improvement to the A2 forum web site. I like the new fomat but finding it a bit confusing but I am sure it will become easier with time

Hi,

We would welcome suggestions for improving the navigation. The list of forums is essentially the same as before - although the new software does provide a huge amount of functionality which might add to the information on screen at any one time.

If you find the Home page a bit confusing (the Recent threads page for instance) - you can always go straight to the forum index using the 'Forums' link in the navigation bar. Alternatively, just visit www.a2forum.net and it'll automatically redirect you to the forum index.

We could also change the Home page to just show News articles, and remove the Recent Threads section.

Just one minor gripe so far Ben.
The width of the forum seems a bit narrow. ie. large gaps either side. Is this because I'm running a large monitor @ high res or just a general forum thing for everyone.

perhaps you could change the colour of the topic heading when a new post has been added as its not easy to spot new posts in the forum list. For instance when a new post is added to say "fuels" change the word "fuels" to a different colour say to green from red this would make new posts stand out like they did on the old forum site (they were purple in colour I think)

I've just been playing about and noticed right at the bottom of the forums screen (on the left hand side of the grey panel), there's a drop down list to select between Ebony Black, Ebony Black Variable and Azure Blue. If you select Ebony Black variable, it resizes the forum width to match the size of window you're running in - cool.

Rob - I've added a child style for the black theme called Ebony Black Variable - it's simply a variable width version of the Ebony Black theme. I will probably rethink the header image - as it no longer looks as neat centred over a variable width forum.

Anyway - you can either select it using the control in the bottom left of the forum - or select it in your user profile.

I will look into the forum highlight colour.
