Seen- frequently....... Silver A2, 9 spoke alloys, Springwood, Huddersfield, distinctive S1HAF reg plate...........immaculate paintwork, A2OC sticker in rear offside window. Looks like the car gets a wash every day, and you could perform open heart surgery on the bonnet without any risk of infection!

Look out for the Blue A2 TDi SE Colour storm any time now in a car park near you! (although probably not quite as clean!)

Methinks the number plate is a bit of a clue..........

Do you work/live in Huddersfield. I recall you said you got your A2 from Richard Alexanders.

So- it was you....and yes, I got the A2 from Alexanders in Huddersfield. I live near Hudds and until very recently did the opposite journey, working in Bradford. Travel would have been more enjoyable in my A2 than my first Lupo- excruciatingly slow and underpowered one litre. As you will note, I recently graduated from the Lupo (I had two also from Alexanders plus 2 Arosas) and the last one was the TDi Sport, apparently with the same engine as the 75ps TDi A2 that I now have.

There are two observations which you or others might comment on (although I know I'm in the wrong topic area- I will be more disciplined in future!)Firstly, I'm getting more mpg from the A2 than the Lupo so far in local/urban driving; 65mpg instead of 57- 62. Secondly, I think the noise insulation is not as good, and the engine seems slightly rougher on idle, with a very slight rattle behind the speedo. Not enough to annoy but it sounds like a cable rattling against plastic. Anyone else observe this on the TDi?

The increase in mpg may be to do with the weight of the A2, although I don't know how it compares to the Lupo. As for insulation and engine/general noises I'd say each car has its own different characteristics. I can relate to the rattle behind the speedo which gets more prominent if you slightly blip the throttle, from memory.

I'm in my fourth A2 now and all have had different noises/rattles. Still hasn't deterred me from sticking to A2's.

If it's any consolation, the 90 seems to be more noisier on tickover than the 75.
