Was the design of A2 influenced by BMW E1 concept car?

I have stumbled on a 1992 BMW E1 concept car and I was wondering if this concept influenced the A2 design:

The blue car looks like a style exercise that became a Citreon.
The red car ....don't think so to answer the original question.
It has looks that are similar to some Honda designs at the time..
Just my thoughts!

There is the VW CC1 prototype that has been cited as the initial study that became the A2

Looks like a mashup between a Citroen C2 and the VW XL1.

For me the similarity between the E1 and A2 is a case of convergent evolution - aerodynamic efficiency from a unibody shape with a Kamm-heck (cut off tail).

Audi probably ripped of the BMW E2 concept design?

Design was probably influenced by checklist. Light, small but roomy, aerodynamic, economic etc.
Unless you start to start to modify the checklist, they will look kind of similar. You don't see boxy raindrops for a reason.
Roofline and rear are important things for aerodynamic car.

Many cars look kind of similar with variations in size, length, nose etc. Rim size + SUV look and size need to be present too to sell a new car.
So we see cars like Tesla X, BMW X6 that look kind of similar but bloated, stretched, nose for large engine etc.

In the car industry, many companies copy things from many other companies, most prototype don't even get made, I'm glad they managed to make the A2 reality.
