Water Temperature Gauge Problem

Hm, so driving along the motorway lastnight, every 5 or 10 minutes the temperature gauge would go slowly down to the bottom, then back up to the middle.

Do you think the sensor has just come loose?

I had this on my previous A2, a 1.4 petrol. An Audi mobile technician first diagnosed a loose connection to the temperature sender but when the fault recurred replaced the sender unit, completely curing the dodgy gauge.

Not a common problem with A2's but it apparently afflicts a few A4's.

The car is going to audi in a few weeks for a few little things to be done to it so i will tell them about this!
