Cheeky little blighter of a heater still won't fire up.

See attached codes. Are there fuses for the webasto to check first?

They don’t have a pump?? Glow plug probably needs replacing.
weirdy mine will fire up on VCDS, no faults logged but it wouldn’t fire up in the winter for me

That's a good point about the pump, the repair on board must have flashed the chips with incorrect audi software. Ahh well I guess it's toast then as I'm damned if I'm taking that out again!!

Work your way forward from the manual page I linked into basic settings and adaptation. Lots of info there.

I yes I see now looking at the fault code but would that not relate to the coolant pump which I presume it must have?

Not the coolant pump. The Webasto on other models has an electrical recirculating pump making it a complete stand alone system. This is then used with a remote start for the Webasto and a timer to allow the car to be warmed up without the engine being run at all.

In the A2 the coolant is only pumped by the engine driven water pump.

correct  , ah well its joined the masses of redundant webasto's in A2's, I'll try to forget the 5kg of weight wasting my fuel in winter ha ha

Perhaps not read the manual page I linked and the following pages to get to basic settings and adaptation.

Moving slightly sideways on this…..I bought a control board to operate the webasto from a 12v feed and not use the cars canbus. Not tried it yet as not quite given up with the webasto as it is, but if all else fails I’m going to give it a go. It also has the output for a circulating pump so could be used as a stand alone pre heat on cold mornings

Can you tell it that a new glow plug has been fitted !
I’ve just done this on our Q5 dpf & the immediate difference is unbelievable & the reason is that the fault will not reset unless the system is told a new item is fitted.

Very interesting, I could do this ut I don't have vcds full programme to hand. Will try when I can, thank you for the info
