What are these marks?

So I have these marks faintly on my Crystal Blue A2 but have never been able to photograph, but @A2Steve comes to the rescue with his latest project ( just love the wheels ) and most recent photo

So I assume these marks are caused by water run off from the screen but was wondering whether this is caused by some sort of blockage or whether it is just a common A2 ‘thing’. Do others have these marks in this location and is it OK to polish them out?

Many thanks in advance

Justin

I believe it's a chemical that gradually gets leached out of the rubber glass seals etc.
I had it on the boot lid, either side, just below the glass surround. I used a mild abrasive, and time, and it's gone. So I think it doesn't penetrate the lacquer coat. I used Brasso, old school, liquid, in a tin.
Mac.

Those are caused by...the car awaiting a machine polish :)

A little bit of cutting compound will get rid of them without issue.

I'd avoid Brasso though as Mac suggests as its too abrasive. Sorry Mac.

Thanks Steve and I’m sorry for stealing your photo; it’s the first time I’ve ever seen them on another A2!
