I think that this is most likely the correct answer, as I remember buying a jabra Bluetooth headset in around 2002 for about £70, which was a fairly new thing still back then!

It's the base; you buy a cradle for the phone to sit in (for example, a Nokia 6210 with the antenna cover removed) and away you go. There's no question on this.
