Evening All,

Unfortunately the time has come where I am thinking of selling our A2, unfortunately we have outgrown it and need to upsize.

Car is a 2004 (53) 1.4 TDI 90 in Akoya Silver. Currently covered 113,000 miles

Full Audi Service history to 85,000. Have service twice a year myself since owning the last 3 years.

Clutch and Flywheel replaced at 87,000, Cambelt and water pump replaced at 97,000. New wiper arm, rear springs and 4 new tyres replaced for last MOT.

I have been looking on several websites and the process seem to vary greatly, I really have no idea where to pitch our car :-(

The car is in good condition all round but has the usual soft touch issue on the climate control and radio buttons. 17" Alloys have seen better days also.

Any advice would be greatly received

I have just bought a 1.4tdi 75, sept 2003, with 78000 miles and paid 4300 which according to one of the price guides was spot on. Hope that gives you an idea.
Bobzz was looking for a tdi so drop him a pm?

I think you will get a shock a stealers part exchange offers if you go that route, £3500 to £3900 is a good ball park figure going of your description, advertised at that price would draw my attention if I was in the market for a tdi.

Thanks Albiej. Funnily enough I just got back from a viewing, also for a silver a2, This one however has 83000 miles and FSH and 1 owner from new. Cam belt changed about 20k miles ago. It was in immaculate condition inside and the outside was not too bad as well .Radio buttons still perfect, and hardly any wear on any of the usual trimmings.None of the scratches I saw on the other ones I went to view yesterday. Alloys was also in mint condition.

Underneath there was some corrosion on the wishbone and the drive shafts. I do not know if this is a serious problem, I guess it is from salt on the roads. It has an 02 plate as well. The price was £3495 and right of the bat I told him I can`t afford the price he wants and he dropped it to £3350. For what it is I think it is not a bad price. Told him I will get back to him tomorrow. I will try to get another 100 off and at that price I think it will be a good deal.

Frendok I guess you can try to ask £3500. It seems to me that if you have a good example then people will be willing to travel and pay for it. One car(1.4 petrol 69k) I saw yesterday needed some work done on all the alloys, scratches that needed removing from the bumpers and body work, the dreaded sunscreen marks on one panel, needed new tires in about 1000 miles, needs new mot and tax in about 6 weeks and the inside was not the best example. Guy wanted £2495 and was unwilling to negotiate on price. Kept hammering on about how nice the colour is.

Only you will now your car and what the real condition for it is. By your post it seems that is well looked after and if the market in your area is willing to pay then you should not have a problem to get the price you want.

Thanks to all for your response, I now have a much better idea of what the car is worth.

Need to get the bucket and sponge out now and get it looking its best for some photos :)

Thanks Again
