Hi All,

I'm thinking of changing the A2, and wondered if anyone whose swapped there A2 could give me some idea of what to expect when/if I trade it in.

Its a 2002 1.4TDI SE in Dolhpin Grey, 9500 miles on the clock and in A1 condition naturally. (Registered July 2002 so its an '02' plate)

Has anyone had any luck selling there A2 through the private ad's? (autotrader etc?)

Any help, gratefully received.

Craig.

expect £10-10.5k if u are part exchanging it for another A2with added discount also on top, if u wanna sell it then expect £9-9.5k from straight sale to audi buy back, privately expect £11k possibly more if u can dupe the buyer into paying more, this is based on my a2 which my audi dealer was gonna change about 1 month about for a '02 1.4 se, my car was 1.4se '01 f/r ew and climate was gonna get £9.5k p/x and £8k straight buy back. obviously a diesel is worth more about £500-1000 more in resale and p/x values.

1.4SE petrol 2001, Dark interior, Sat cloth, Brilliant Silver, 3 spoke Steering wheel, Rear electric windows and Panasonic MR555 stereo, Panasonic 8CD changer, 10 speakers (2 extra 13" 190 watt each.)

1.4TDiSE 2002, Biege interior, Brilliant Black, Concert II.

I got £9500 for a 52 plate 1.4SE Petrol, metallic silver, climate, concert II, 1800 miles on the clock as trade in.

Good luck to you, that's all I can say.

Craig: What extra's are on your A2? Has it been a good car without recurrent trips to a dealer? I must admit an interest, as a non A2 owner, but the package has to be right to replace my current car...

We sold our 200/X 1.4 Se petrol A2 through Autotrader.

After a slow start , I upgraded from web only to a double picture advert in the 'Prestige' section. A few calls came in and the eventual buyer arrived.
After some haggling and waiting he finally gave me the price I wanted.

Of course having sold the car we had loads of calls.

Selling privately is more stressfull (and risky) but you normally get a large financial reward. Dealing with the public can be a real hassle though.

We sold 3 cars this year (all Audis) and the amount we 'saved' by not part-exchanging more than paid for the options on the new A2.

Hmmm not to sure about the ebay idea!, It'll be interesting to see if the guys sells his!.

I emailed a Lexus dealer and 3 Audi dealers this afternoon asking for part ex prices against an IS200 or an A4 from the respective dealers. (Lexus bristol, Bristol/Bath & Swindon Audi)

Lexus were on the phone within half an hour offering coffee/test drives for the weekends... etc..etc.. and offered my £10,750 partex on the phone without even seeing the car, and we haven't started haggling yet!.:)

Non of 3 Audi dealers have responded yet!. I think Audi dealers could learn a thing or two from Lexus Bristol!. [:0]

Are you listening Audi ???????

Cheers

Craig.
