Hello Drew,

The 2 metal prongs you see are supposed to be separated when the glove box is closed. This would turn the glovebox light off.

The protrusion that actually separates them is missing. It might well be sat on the inside of the glovebox somewhere or even on your passenger footwell. It should be adhered to the 2x grey marks you see inside the red rectangle:

If you don’t have the missing part then Paul @depronman offers a chunkier 3D print option which you can adhere on yourself.

Edit: Mac @PlasticMac you beat me to it as I was still typing. Love this forum, so helpful to one another.

Kind regards,

Tom

Probably only time I've answered first.
Mac.

ah, thank you all.
id always wondered where paul's elusive plastic printed bit went!
i replaced the bulb and i now have light, but im guessing without the part the light stays on all the time?

Hi Drew,

Yes the glovebox light will remain on all the time whilst the ignition is on and the 2 metal prongs are in contact of each other. Paul’s 3D printed part for pennies is the answer you’re after.

Kind regards,

Tom
