Where’s my suspension?

Hi
I understand from reading through posts that the actual original suspension set up (springs and dampers) are recorded on a sticker in the boot , or in the original car documents.
I have found one at the front of my service schedule book from when we got it new.
Can anyone shed any light if any of those codes shown on the sticker (see photo) shed any light on the suspension set up at the rear, and front, as I am considering replacing the dampers and springs etc on our a2 sport Tdi 75 with OSS
With many thanks
Andy

No, the sticker codes don't cover the actual original suspension set up. 0YJ however tells us that your rear suspension supports weight range 9. My SE is OYG - weight range 7. G08 relates to the front shock absorbers, but my decoder doesn't say what exactly it means.

There is only one way I know of to definitively establish the correct springs for your A2, and that is to ask an Audi dealer. The shocks will be the appropriate Bilstein B4s or equivalent. The original shocks were Monroes

@CreweAudi should be able to help.

I did the same thing on my previous A2 and verified them with @CreweAudi.

And, because I like puzzles...

From your sticker:
LO2 points to spring 6Q0 411 105 AD with G08 pointing to shock absorbers 8Z0 413 031 AC (front suspension).
0YJ points to spring 8Z0 511 115 BB with 8Z0 512 131 C stop buffer, 1J0 512 149 B underlay, and shock absorbers 8Z0 513 025 N (rear suspension).

These are however for AUA, AMF, BBY, and BAD engines. I can't say for sure they're the same for BHC.

Best of luck!

Me again. Sorry!

Had time to have a good look at the rear springs now, and the the colour dots are 2Orange 1green 1White . Original as far as I am aware having checked back through receipts . Does this tie in with the rear spring part numbers that come up using the codes on the sticker in the boot (and were kindly listed above) ?
i am sure I've seen a list of part numbers to colour dots\codes for springs before but cannot locate it.
having trawled for hours through the a2oc site i cannot see anyone who's talked about springs and shocks for the combo i have - ie a 2004 tdi 75 Sport ( with A/c ) OSS and BHC engine (and full Votex- whether that makes any difference weight wise for the suspension set up at the factory)

many thanks for any advice
andy

The Audi part number for the spring you have is 8Z0 511 115 S. You can order the exact replacement from any Audi dealer, or possibly TPS depending on how strict they are in enforcing the trade only policy.

There's a full list of part numbers for the A2 rear spring options here:

Thanks Steve
Hope all's well
Looking at that list though it doesn't appear to differentiate between the actual paint colour dots . Just the number of dots ....
So my 2 Orange 1green 1white, on that list could be either 8zo..... S OR AJ OR AL ? Could it not ??
Or am I missing something . It doesn't seem to point to the exact part number to me but up to 3 different ones all of which differ from the 8zo....BB which is what the boot sticker points to apparently
Confused . Thought that choosing a spring would be easy!
Regards
Andy

You need to view that page on a PC rather than a mobile phone (which is what I suspect you're doing). Then you'll be able to see the page displayed correctly. S is the only option that matches your dots.

Ah ok.
And yes.You are correct again. I was using a mobile device.
Many thanks Steve
Take care

8Z0 511 115 S corresponds to two orange, one green, one white only. Nothing else. At least by the look of things you've got a relatively common spring- there may well be aftermarket equivalents from Febi / Bilstein / Monroe etc compatible across a number of cars. Best of luck!

Thanks Robin, indeed I do hope they are quite common !- to enable me to get monroes or bilsteins however thus far no joy on a quick search of uk places. Will try a TPS maybe ?
Carlston that’s great. What’s puzzling me though is why the boot sticker indicates a ...BB spring apparently , and yet the springs are..S from the actual markings -even though they have not been changed , ever.
Ah well it is what it is. But has me thinking ...

That's because your options sticker doesn't indicate a BB spring, and be cause the person who suggested it did (which he qualified at the time) was wrong.

As I've already said, there's only one way to definitively establish what springs were fitted to your car from new, and that is to ask an Audi dealer. I'd be pretty confident though, that your rear springs will indeed turn uot to be the S version.

If your rear springs remain in good shape, why on earth change them? Just change the dampers etc. and you'll be good to go.

I recently used a German company Autodoc for Monroe and Bilstein suspension components, and so long as you email them to confirm fitment, they were cheap and delivery was quick. Just a recommendation if you can't find a UK supplier.

Optimal, Sachs, Spidan, and Suplex only make three rear springs for the Audi A2. TRW only makes two rear springs for the Audi A2. These springs often won't match what was originally fitted to the car.
