Where do I find the engine number stamped?

I have been to look at a late model A2 Tdi 75 today and couldn't for the life in me think where the engine number is stamped.

I found the VIN number in the windscreen panel and beneath the centre console rear ashtray.....but the engine number?

Can anyone enlighten me??
