Which A2 to keep?

Well thanks guys, that’s now as clear as mud. I’m no further along knowing which one to keep than I was this morning 😂
:)
I do not envy you and I am glad I do not need to make such a decision. I hope you mind will clear in the next days ;). Take a drive with each of them and see, what that will do.

Whilst past performance is not a 100% guide to future events, having thought on this, I think you’ve asked the wrong question Steve. It’s which one to let go FIRST.

Because as sure as eggs is eggs, neither of these cars will be your final A2 surely? I suspect you’ll let the green one go first and you won’t know if you should’ve or not till it’s gone. I agree with @George Hogg though, it is a very special car.

I'd say keep the pine green, it would be so much harder to replace and as you've already said you'd never recoup the cost and hours spent on it.

To me it's a no brainer 😉

I have the same problem Steve One has to go and one is going into storage and I think I will be selling the Purple FSI I will be doing mainly longer Motorway journeys in the future and 6 speed TDI 90 is much better MPG , £30 VED and cheaper insurance and not worried about ULEZ as I never go into large Cities

I bet there will be a queue for the FSI when the time comes. Having seen it in the flesh it’s a beauty.

You have a purple FSI, can we see some pics please!

CC est un choix difficile...., Moi j ai un modèle A2 un litre 4 que je rénove petit a petit .....avec mes petits moyen

I would keep the diesel, cheaper to run, easier to drive around. But if you don't go far keep the petrol.
I did a bit of Manmaths the other day, and my previous car was a Volvo C30 D2. 52mpg it averaged on Fuelio. My A2 1.4 petrol so far is averaging 43mpg. This is where my manmaths kicks in- apart from road tax, which was £30 a year in the D2, insurance is a little less on the A2, doing 10000 miles a year, I'm spending £60 a year more on fuel. The gap's closing, and taking into account ULEZ and the petrol's simpler construction, I reckon there's not much in it now?

I'd think with the price differential between petrol and diesel, a 1.4 petrol would win.
Mac.
