which crank position sensor!

I have in the past bought the incorrect crank position sensor for the 1.4 petrol a2 looking at eurocarparts I have no idea which I need for my 2002 car!

Looks like number 8 on the following diagram. I would contact @CreweAudi with your VIN number to make sure .

If you look at the right you will see applicability ,alternative part numbers and illustration of the part which may help rule out some alternatives.

Personally to be certain of getting it right I would go to CreweAudi for a quote. If you want to look at alternatives it would help if you could post the engine code AND your VIn. Looking at 7zap there seems to be two version for the 1.4 petrol.

Your sensor will end in "E" if it's a BBY engine code as in picture 8. Mine is a 1.4 BBY 2003.

I got mine from (Partsdepot-uk") on Ebay which is really Audi Crewe Ebay as it was on offer..

That’s a cam sensor I’m after the crank sensor.

there is only one crank position sensor on a 1.4i there are however differences to the part based on year

So read the catalogue correctly. AUA up to 2001 has one part number for the crankshaft part, after that and for BBY it's a different one. It should also be around €100 if it's original. This is assuming that the part is actually the one to clear the fault (and I'd not bother with non-OEM on this, either; it's a pain when the engine stops without warning...)
