Ok - in true 21st century style, I'm going to "ask the audience" and use an interactive voting system to choose the answer for me!

What mod do I do this year?

FSDs + associated other suspsension gubbins
or
Leather re-trim
or
both (!)
or
neither

I've got 17"s so the car is a bit on the "skittish" side ride-wise, but I've not really minded so far, but everybody tells me the FSDs will transform the car's ride, and handling, and ultimately make it a better car.

I've also got 2 kids who love dropping food, and liquids, and treading their muddy shoes all over the car interior. If nothing else, leather is far more practical as it offers a lovely "wipe clean" surface, and may add to any potential re-sale value. Plus it smells nice :)

As I'm unlikely to be able to afford to do two large mods this year (can't see me getting a bonus!), so which would the forum go for?!

Note, I'm not compelling myself to do either, maybe I'll just save the money and buy a new plasma, or go on holiday!

Hi Dan for me if i could afford it the FSD's would be my way to go this year, would like a retrim but for me Half leather and its not as important as the handling of the car

Cheers Phil

Hi Dan,

FSD's every time, even though my A2 has very light coloured (beige?) seats I would have gone the FSD route before getting a retrim. Though the thought of heated leather seats in the cold weather does have its attraction. And there is only so many times you can clean water marks off the seat squabs!

although I voted for FSD, but I would not underestimate the importance of leather, especially when you have kids. I've always had leather and compare to other cars I had to keep clean, it is probably worth while as much as the FSD. The question is, would you enjoy being in a cleaner car or being in a better ride? ;-)

Well that's the dilemma isn't it! Maybe I just need to win the lottery or something!

Are the FSDs really this good - 14 of you voted for suspension vs 4 for leather and 4 for "Do both"!

I must admit the ride is a tad on the harsh and crashy and jittery side, esp on my 17s but I realy don't want a "French Floater" if you know what I mean?

Dan it does feel completly different to what you think its just so much calmer on the road, when i had cruise fitted me and Mike went out in mine first then out in Tank up the same road it felt so much better, and Tanks on 17's as well then when we went out and up onto the peaks round all the twisty stuff very stiff like you want it to be and then back to calm when you get back into the town

Cheers Phil
