Will an A3 Bose setup fit??

Simple answer - no. It might electrically work, but the design of the speakers and sub etc is completely different. Sorry.

I’m sure that you could pioneer the ‘making it Work’ philosophy here!

My Campervan came with speakers at least two inches bigger than the originals in the doors. The fact that they required the interior structure of the door to be hammered out of the way and sawn into to allow them to only stick out by an inch or so more than flush is by the by - he MADE IT WORK!

My philosophy is that anything is achievable. I don't think that I have failed on anything over my lifetime! So I would suggest that you go ahead and purchase that bargain Bose system and worry about it later! There is SO much help on this Forum, anyway!

Well, it's the satisfaction and sense of achievement that results from making things work. Maybe I'm not alone in that?

No, you're not alone in that, but custom speakers and amp would just be a better job IMO.

Whilst I agree with you that custom speakers and powerful amp could do a better job, from a cost point of view and the amount of effort it takes to create custom pods for the speakers etc, the original BOSE speaker setup can be had (fully fitted) for probably less money and it's sound is very reasonable for an OEM stereo setup, it has been pre-tuned to the A2 interior space and provides.

Okay, if you're a basshead then it ain't going to cut it, but I bet you couldn't play Funky Cold Medina on a standard BOSE system and not crack a smile :)

I agree, but I wasn't meaning aftermarket amp and speakers are better than the Bose A2 set up, I was meaning it would be a better job than trying to modify the A3 Bose set up.

I agree with DJ190 about the challenge and job satisfaction with a job well done. If it’s properly cheap and you fancy a project then go for it.

I have failed on several projects (or maybe better to say that they are still open...) because the time and the expense ended up being more than the benefit from the original cheap buy. However, the ones that have worked have made me smile a little each time I made use of them which was worth it.

If you want to make it work (really really want it) then it will - but maybe don’t do it if you are looking for cheap and easy.

My own A2 had an aftermarket amp and electronics fitted to allow me to use 3.5mm in. It was a lot more effort and eventually cost than I’d hoped and didn’t really do a great job. A Connect2 ended up being cheaper and works better.
