Since most people's (vocal) experience of dealers seems to be negative, I thought I should post a message in this tubleweed strewn section of the forum to say what a good experience I've just had with Wimbledon Audi, who recently took over Whites Audi.

Car (A2 1.4 Petrol X Reg) went in for some warranty work (power steering playing up and rear seat not sitting properly in mounting). Though it took them two days and I had to cycle to the garage to pick up my car, I did feel they were on the money in the way they dealt with me.

Given that it was warranty work, I was especially impressed that they washed the car, leaving it looking sparkly.
In dealing with the power steering, they highlighted brake pads needing replacing soon (70/80% wear) and in removing the central wheel bolt covers, one of the plastic catches on the back of the wheel cover was broken off. Now, instead of simply shoving it back on with the broken bit of plastic in the hole, which I am sure many garages would do, they replaced it with a new one.

Now, to me, and I don't think I am unusual, it's these little, inexpensive details which indicate a human/e touch that make me want to patronise a particular dealer.

If Audi UK or interested dealers are hunting around on here for free research, this nugget's out there for you, gratis:

I don't NEED free coffee and tea (though it's a nice touch), what I do NEED and EXPECT is good, honest professional service at REASONABLE prices. If I don't get the second, then the free beverage simply leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.

Not everyone's driving a company Audi, so for us privateers, these are the details that will keep us coming back for more of what you offer.

Here endeth the Dealer Lesson.

Plaudits to Dean, Danni and Graham at Wimbledon Audi.
