Windscreen replacement (Again)

Hi, has anyone else noticed how easy the front screen cracks, after the 2nd social we gained a crack [29], we didn't hear the stone but heard the glass crack across the bottom of the screen, this is in the same area as the first (Yes its the second windscreen in 6 months [2][2][1]) The insurance company are very good and said we could have 2-3 a year without any penalty so only have to pay the excess again...

The stone had hit about 30mm in from the edge of the screen. Being fixed on monday...

Personally I think it's just darn bad luck. Some cars seem to get more stone chips on their noses (my SEAT Leon was bad for that, the Corolla not so much). If a stone is going up that far it will hit the windscreen whatever.

Just a sod when you've just had a new screen in!!.

I agree - just bad luck. In 130,000 miles over five years in two company cars - lots of hits but no breaks.

In the same period "our" cars have had a new screen and a screen repair (14,000 mile Scenic) and new screen (4000 mile A2). Always when "she" is driving ! ! ! !

Windscreen update

Well its fitted 2 days late but its in.
They had sent the "Glass" to the BATH branch and the "Work Order" to the BRISTOL branch.

I did ask the cost to replace the screen
HOW MUCH...
£450 UK pounds, so glad the insuance are pay the bill (again).

I wouldn't dare imply anything of the kind - it just illustrates the amount of luck involved. Wrong place + wrong time = new windscreen.
