Wiper blade

Just bought a new wiper blade, but still get a slight smear around screen near pivot of arm during dirty weather. Is this common? Also small washer bottle tank!

Yes - this is quite normal I'm afraid. The A2, although having one of the funkiest (and floppiest) wipers around, sadly doesn't have one of the best! I can't agree with the small wiper fluid bottle though - I've always found mine to be most capacious.

I've got the earlier none floppy wiper. Plan on changing the arm to the newer floppy version soon. My car doesn't have head light washers and I find the washer bottle to be big enough. Don't the newer cars have different washer jets as well (4 standard jets as opposed to the weird slotted fan nozzle things on mine)

Yep, you're right Jimbob, I have the later wiper system and no headlight washers. The bottle seems quite large enough, in these salt-ridden last few weeks.

Four jets seems to use water in no time, perhaps I need to be a shorter squirt!!!!!!!

ooh er missus
I do find the low washer warning annoying though. You can't cancel it and it takes over the radio display. Shame you can't just say yes I know and temporarily cancel the warning. Also it scared me to death the first time I had to stop in a layby and read the manual

Hi.
Jossi here, and I´ve got a 2001 14 petrol and changed to the floppywiper and the new waterjets(+watertray). Well the floppy needs much ajustment now&then bending and making it fit the shape of the windscreen and at prevent squeeky noise when wiping. And it looks home-made compared to the original old wiper. (I´ve ordered an old new one now!)
Happy X-mas!! Jossi

You've got a low washer warning light!!!! We haven't - and it is infuriating! I couldn't believe a modern car wouldn't have one, but no - the manual makes no mention of it either..... My Mark III Escort had one back in 1983!

anyone know where to get replacement wiper blades apart from the Audi dealership. I havent asked Audi yet how much they are but my guess is expensive.

Cost of wiperblade

Hi, just bought a new one from Lincoln Audi £14.35. Very nicely boxed (as you would expect at that price!!)
