Wiper blades

I need to replace the wiper blade but when I went to Halford's to get a replacement part I was told that there isn't one available other than a genuine Audi part, is this true, if not where can I get a replacement part?

Personally I don't know of any 'after market' alternatives, but the blades are readily available from the dealers or you could try VAG-parts.

Price is around £14.00 from the dealers and VAG-parts probably offer a comparable price; though there will of course be p&p to add from them.

P.S. I forgot to add that I am referencing the 'floppy wiper blade' - I assume that is what you have on your vehicle?

Hi Jayc530,
Halfords were correct; the only wiper blades available are the genuine Audi
blades.There are 2 types of blades depending on the year of your A2.
You will have to buy one from an Audi dealer or if you are a member of this club you can get a 10% discount from Vag Parts, although the dealer may be cheaper once you've paid the postage.From memory i paid around £16-£18 last time for the earlier style blade,but theres only a single blade so its not too bad.Next time it needs replacing though, i will change the whole wiper arm and blade for the newer aero type from Vag Parts.

I bought one from Teesside Audi last week for £16 inc vat (floppy type blade) they also fitted it free whilst they were doing some other work on the car. It does only take 30 secs though! ;) and it really easy, just lift the arm up of the screen, rotate the balde through 90o and it will pull off the locating pin. Fitting is the reverse and as I remember it is impossible to get in on the wrong way. The performance with a new blade is excellent, so much so I bought some similar "aerotwin" blades for my MX-5 (Chinnese copies off E-bay!), the added bonus is that they also look v. cool!

How do you know which wiper blade fits your A2? My car is a June 2003 1.4TDI Sport. I'm afraid I don't know which blade I currently have.
