Work has started on the site of the biggest-ever Audi retail dealership - not in Germany but on the outskirts of Glasgow. Lomond Audi, running out of elbow room in its current city-centre location, is investing £15 million in what's said to be the largest single site occupied by any car dealership in the UK.
It's in the second phase of the very busy Braehead Retail Park, on the south side of the River Clyde, between Glasgow and Renfrew, and is planned for completion next year.
As well as a showroom and service area, the new development will include a restaurant, a kindergarten, a children's road safety classroom, a multi-functional entertainment centre, training and conference facilities, an off-road course and even an Audi museum.
It's expected to turn over something like £50 million in its first full year.
Wonder if you could take an A2 round the off road course!!!!!
