Yes, we’ll be there! Apologies, but been offline for a while. My partner had a bit of an accident they day after we came back from a couple of weeks in Crete! He’s okay now, but the cars a write off. Not the A2 fortunately, but the 9 week old SEAT!!

Will be nice to thank you in person for being a key player in the 'Bognor to Yorkshire' parcel relay team

Thanks Darren - a broken leg which has been pinned and so should be fine! Internal bleeding and a lot of bruising, but again time will heal that too.

That sounds very nasty. Makes you realise how fragile life is, and at the end of the day, how insignificant our metal (or aluminium) pride and joys are. Speedy recovery.

I haven’t looked yet, but the Best Western in Driffield is The Bell isn’t it? I’ve stayed in Hotel 41 in Driffield, which was excellent, especially for the price! Will take a look tonight...will be in Scarborough Friday night, so not a million miles away. There’s a Best Western in Pickering as well I think?

Hi Peter - hope you partner is feeling a bit better now and his leg is healing ok.

Yes, i think it is the Bell. In the end, as we are having the meal the York side of Leeds, i ended up booking into the Holiday Inn Leeds Garforth as it is close to the place for the evening meal, but also pretty easy access to the Museum. It also has a pool and wasn't too expensive as i'm going to be staying Friday to Monday.

I thought the date looked familiar...we’re in Yorkshire anyway that weekend! Pete Tong and the Heritage Orchestra are doing the Ibiza Classics concert at the open air theatre in Scarborough on the Friday night!! Saw it last year at the O2 and it was amazing; well, amazing if you grew up in the late eighties/early nineties

Just need to sort out a hotel for the Saturday night now

Thanks Hilary. Many years ago I lived up there...went to school in Driffield
Left in 1989 to go to Uni and haven’t lived there since, though my parents did until about 7 years ago !!

Great news.
We are staying in Pocklington as visiting my cousin on the Sunday, I can share some for this area. it’s abiut 30 mins from the pub.
Teresa has booked here - Holiday Inn Leeds Garforth which I understand is Close to the pub

Hi Folks

Less than two weeks until the Yorkshire Social at the Yorkshire Air Museum in Elvington, near York on Saturday 21 July.

Looking like a great turnout of A2s parking alongside the aeroplanes in our specially reserved area. I'll post some details nearer the time about arrangements at the gate for our discounted entrance fee.

Arrive anytime after 11.00. We'll be there all afternoon. Hope people can join the drive together at around 17.00 finishing at the 'Fox & Grapes' pub LS15 4NJ - the same place we went to at last year's Yorkshire Social.

Please could you let us know if you're planning to stay for the Pub meal. We have a reserved area but it will still be very helpful for me to let them know an approximate number - thanks!
