The weekend for the Yorkshire Social has been fixed on the calendar since the start of the year. Now here are the exciting details…

Saturday 21 July

Yorkshire Air Museum

We’ll be parking the A2s in a reserved area in front of the aeroplanes!

Yorkshire Air Museum is in the grounds of the former RAF Elvington

8 miles South-east of York. YO41 4AU.

Close to A64 with easy links to the A1

Yorkshireairmuseum.org

Plenty of interest for families

  • Historic aerodrome layout
  • NAAFI style café
  • Cold War aircraft, WW2 Aircraft
  • Museum
  • Control tower
  • Support Vehicles

Entrance: Adult £6, Child £4 discounted for A2OC on the day

(usual fee adult £10, Child £6)

Plan for the day and hopefully some summer weather…

Arrive any time after 11.00 am

A2s will park in a reserved area

Enjoy the museum/chat A2s with friends

Late afternoon we’ll set off on a short drive for a Pub meal

Any members, old or new thinking about coming along to a first social, you’ll be made very welcome.

We’ll be adding a calendar link soon but before that let us know if you can join us.

Hope to make this another great A2 social

Hilary

Sadly we can’t make this as we are away for Caroles Birthday, I’m sure it’ll be great, enjoy though everyone!
Cheers Jeff

I thought the date looked familiar...we’re in Yorkshire anyway that weekend! Pete Tong and the Heritage Orchestra are doing the Ibiza Classics concert at the open air theatre in Scarborough on the Friday night!! Saw it last year at the O2 and it was amazing; well, amazing if you grew up in the late eighties/early nineties

Just need to sort out a hotel for the Saturday night now :)

Good choice of weekend then. Really pleased you can make it.

Hoping to organise the meal at a pub not too far from the museum. Will post some accommodation suggestions as soon as possible

Sorry folks, unable to make this one as Lee has another run (if it had been the weekend after we would have been just round the corner) but I can say that we took my nephew here last year and it was amazing.

Such a pity Aimee. We'll miss you.
Great to hear the Air Museum is a good choice. Thanks for that.
Hope you manage to get along to some of the other great socials Mike & Vonnie have planned for the rest of the year

Will be at the Stanford Hall event as that is just round the corner, so hopefully you will be at one?

Don't think it matters what you arrive in so these events are a great place for potential A2 owners or 'work in progress' owners to come and chat.
Poorly cars are also welcome as there is usually a laptop or two around for a diagnostic scan - and with a bit of forward planning, an upgrade or two may even be possible

Cheers Spike
