CCU (How do you OPEN it?)

Hi ALL,

Just wondered if anyone could help me in opening up the CCU.

I have been in communication with Lau, who wants to know what chip number is inside prior to sending it off to him in Germany to fix.

I have taken some pics to show the connection of the casing:

Any one done this before who could explain a technique or show pics would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Hound.

See pic's attached. you will need to get something thin and flat 'blade like' to slot in between the tabs marked in yellow arrows, do not try to put anything in the four 'X' marked tabs as these will open themselves as you separate the marked ones.

In one of the pictures I have put a red line through it and marked A & B, if you start on say A, do all the tabs then go and do the B, this way it will lift out easier.

This is a picture of the unit 8Z0 959 433 E.

Thanks Sarge

That little bit of advice gave me the oomph to give it a go, and with abot 6 flatblade screwdrivers, it poped out :)

Hopefully I can now give the internal info on chip numbers to Lau who can hopefully fix it and hence maybe my Cental Locking, Alarm, Elec Windows will work again and also no flickering Interior lights. Not forgetting being able to open the petrol cap!!!

Thanks again,

Justin.

Your Welcome Justin, hope you get it all sorted.

What is it on these Q units that actually fail?

Dry joints, component failure? I not even remotely interested in trying to fix mine atm, just intrigued!
