Reversing Light Switch Replacement on a 1.4 petrol

Hi everyone,

after checking bulbs and fuses, I think that my reversing switch has stopped working.

I have ordered the relevant part, and have searched the forum, but can only find advice for a TDI, and the switch dosn't seem to be in the same place on a 1.4 petrol?

Can anyone help please?

I'm afraid I'm unfamiliar with the position of the switch on the petrol gearbox, but before you buy and fit a new switch, unplug the connector from the existing switch (leaving the switch in the gearbox) and bridge the two pins with a paper clip or the like. If the reversing lights come on, then you know the switch is indeed your issue.

I've seen a diagram and it looks like the reverse light switch is below the back end of the starter motor.
