single din to double din conversion

Hy i am new to the forum, recently purchased an a2 that has a single din cd player, i would like to put a double din cd player in the car, is the only way to do this by changing the entire dash?has anyone done any modification that retains the dash, thanks

David's right - there's lot of info on the forum. However, the forum's own search function is poor. As a general rule, you're better using Google to search within the bounds of this site.
Type your search into Google as normal and then add site:a2oc.net to the end of the search.

I did this recently. You can modify the dash but you still have to take the whole thing out to do so and you need a double din cage to fit and they're not a separate part anyway so swapping an entire double din dash is probably the easiest option to be honest!
