Hello,
the subject is: EGR - how to dismount it for cleaning? Is there a howto/PDF with photos?

The issue is that it's "hidden" so deep that it seems unreachable, especially the bottom gasket...

Hi,
thanks guys - I think I can take it from here. I was afraid that there is no other way, but to remove the valve cover...
Should I always get a new gasket for the valve cover?
And a neverending question - should I blind it (car from 2001) or just clean it?

The valve cover gasket is re-useable.
Worth checking with Audi but I seem to recall the early gasket is no longer available so if it leaks you have to buy a new cover and gasket.

I just disconnected and blanked off the vacuum pipe to the EGR capsule. Early cars don't have any monitoring system on the EGR valve so there is no need for ECU software changes. Make sure you don't disconnect the black plastic anti - shudder valve capsule by mistake

No difference - but I disconnected mine when the engine had only done a few thousand miles.

Apologies for ressurecting an old thread but I am in need of the dutch PDF how to guide to cleaning my EGR valve.
Can anyone point me in the right direction for it or as it does nit appear to work. Or an English how to please?
