I installed the Audi Ipod link today and just wanted to say thanks to all those who have previously posted various items about the removal of the glove box.
Tools/equipment
Concert 2 Head (in my case)
2 Audi stereo removal keys (from Vagparts)
Ipod link (from Vagparts)
Short screwdriver with Torx 25
Insulated terminal screwdriver
Cordless drill
13mm countersink drill bit
Headlight (for my head)
3 of the five screws were found easily enough, the other 2 would have been impossible without the info on here.
One is behind the coin holder, found if I used the terminal screwdriver on the left hand side of it, it popped off easily enough to allow me to get to screw number 4.
Number five is right behind the trim in the passenger foot well and I used the large blunt end of the heavily insulated terminal screwdriver to push the trim in far enough to allow access to the magnetnic Torx 25 bit.
I wasn't able to remove the glove box fully for some reason but it gave me enough room to see that what I was drilling into.
I used a countersink bit as the small head allowed my cordless drill to fit fully into the glove box.
Ipod now working without problem, both Nano and Video.
