Radio lights on themselves no radio

Another electrical problem last night I went to the car to find the radio lights on by themselves and the radio would not work, I drove home, radio lights were on bright. I arrived home, I pulled the radio fuse out and the lights went out. I put the fuse back in and the radio lights stayed off. Today everything seems to be working ok again including the radio and cd player.

I have had the same problem last week, and did the same thing to fix it. No idea what caused it. I have the in dash 6 CD changer (Symphony II) stereo.
Problem hasn't reappeared, and the stereo works fine, and all the presets were still stored.

Very odd!

The problem is in the headunit itself and is due to the voltage from the permanent live being bridged onto the illumination pin.

Interestingly, it only seems to affect generation 2 models, suggesting a CAN fault of some sort, probably logic based, which clears when the permanent power feed is cut.

Cheers
