Is it a pain untangling the PAS system I wonder?

An update is due…..so after all the suspension work, I replaced the timing belt and pump, replaced the clutch and today it went through the mot. The mot guy was really impressed with the amount of work I’d done on it
The clutch, although working ok was a bit stiff, and I suspected it was the original…..it was, although it still had a fair bit to go. As it’s for a friend I want it to go with no hidden horrors for the future.
So it’s done! I shall soon be driving it to wales for its new adventure.
My plan is to try to keep it maintained in the future and keep an eye on things, so I really hope it provides reliable transport.

Also remember to remove and clean the metal bar the belts run through in the B pillar.

It is, remover the b pillar trim, and there a little bar the belt runs over, it gets gummed up and sticky. It’s surprising how this will stop the belt from retracting.

So, yesterday I took the black A2 over to its new owner. She’s wanted one for a while and now she has one! I have to say that although it’s poverty spec, it’s the best driving A2 I’ve driven. Not a single rattle, squeak or wind noise, ice cold air con and is really rapid!!!
She messaged me once back in wales to say what an awesome car it is. Job done!!
