Startup "Scream" fix?

Is there any way to stop my A2 doing a little scream on startup, other than changing the starter motor?
 
Yes, remove the starter motor, prise off (carefully) the oil seal around the gear, stand the motor upright and use a light oil to lubricate. Replace seal and refit. Done it on 1.4 petrol and diesel.
