Not keen on the color of this one and the spec inside but the drive is something else I must admit. Full review coming soon

I suspect the ride is helped at least a little by the wieght of the motor and all those batteries. When you hit a bump there is at least some weight resistance to stop you from being rattled.

I would go for the REX version (and I am tempted too) it is just that I prefer to not have to worry about finding a charge point when the battery is fading.

My biggest dilemma would be due to the fact that I can only have two cars where I live, so one of the A2s would have to go.

It would seem obvious to sell my wife's TDI 90 and then we could share mine, but my wife (understandably) is saying "NO, there is no way I would drive your A2 around, I would be too scared to scratch it" I can see her point. So that would mean selling mine!!! Not only would that kiil me, but I would effectively be losing about 18K (because regardless of how much I have spent on it (i.e. TOO MUCH) there is a ceiling on how much any A2 would be worth).

So that is probably the only thing stopping me from getting an A2.

Wait a minute!!! I think I have a solution, sell her car and replace it with the i3, she can use it around town and I can use it whenever I want.

No wait another minute!!!! My wife would NEVER drive anything other than an A2, she absolutely loves A2s and she i not "into cars" at all!!

Damn, looks like I won't be getting an i3 after all!!!

just keep both A2 and get a beemer , than you'll see... maybe you won't be impressed with it over longer time same as A1...
just a thought...

anyway Steve if you wanna sell your wife's 90 I may be interested as that's my next plan after I'll finish on my FSi Sport Mode upgrade... always wanted 90 and I'm gonna have one and than decide what I like more... that's a clue with your potential i3 buy ;)

That choice is easy, at least for me. :)

i just love the i3... but i think its a lot of money for an electric car, and the electric car industri is still under massive changes so after like 3 years or so the car is old old old,, sadly corse i really want one..
But i love my A2 so .. I'm happy anyway .. :)

I bought the Fsi 18 months ago and loved the car but not the engine and 4 months ago I bought the Tdi on impulse to try it out. And now I have decided to sell the Fsi and keep the Tdi instead, much better engine.

The i3 is an interesting car but how can I justify another car?

If you are an happy owner of an A2, your best way to be environmentally friendly is to keep the A2 and don't buy a new electric car. When you include the production and the disposal of an electric car into it's life cycle environmental impact, it's less efficient compared to a fuel efficient combustion car.

I contribute and is environmentally friendly by driving my A2, and by keeping others away from driving my other cars!:rolleyes::eek:

I am driving recycled beer cans! :p

Any links to that claim?

I have seen these claims in Swedish news aswell. But you have to be careful when reading research reports, you newer know who funded that research report. And getting the numbers for how much CO2 (or other toxic stuff) the production of specific model produced is impossible to get.

My point is, can you drive your old car, as little as possible, that's probably best. If you are buying a new car, buy an electric one! And drive it on renewable electricity.
And the easiest thing to do, don't decat!

You just have to be careful what you read.

The oil industry is getting worried about all the EV's that are about to hit the road over the next few years and will no doubt want negative press and blogs about how bad EV's are.

This pic shows an example against hydrogen cars and i would say oil has similar logistics.

EV batteries will also be recycled and used as home back up power stations and charged via solar panels.

But how many eV cars will be charged using solar power? Most will be charged using mains electricity which is generated from fossil fuels.

what was it that you didn't like about the engine?

Give it time, the EV revolution is only just beginning.

Most people i know that own them also have solar.

Also many EV owners use wind power or get their power service from Ecotricity

The total lack of torque below 3000 rpm. The diesel is always ready to deliver when I push the pedal, but that might partially be due to the tuning.
