yes john i believ you are right if youre on long life service intervals but can use a different spec if you are on fixed intervals

I use Castrol Edge and i change at 10 000 mile intervals and always use the genuine Audi oil filter too!

I use Castrol Edge and always buy the oil change kit from Opie Oils (the expert) at a good price. Run mine to 20k between changes given that I do quite a few long range motorway runs a month.

Do the oil changes and brake pads/discs etc myself - as I have 3 to practise on! Although I'm booked in at Stafford Audi next month for their very good value cam belt change (£275) and water pump (£80).

ULP,

How do you mean "long life service" costs twice as much??

The oil is more expensive but it lasts longer

John

As far as I know, a normal service is basically an oil and oil filter change plus a service indicator reset.

LongLife is as above plus air filter, pollen filter, full above and below inspection and a LongLife reset to the service indicator.

Still not brilliant value, but you have to remember their service rates!

Cheers,

Mike
