Adding 2T (2T= 2 Stroke) to my Tdi for a while now too. Although I'm not (yet) experiencing a drop in fuel consumption I must say that it makes the mechanical noise less and (therefore?) it feels smoother.
Now, the 2T oil that I used is of the dutch "Action/Techno" brand, and I'm aware that it is not the correct spec (Api TC/Jaso FB, Synth.based) as stated by Timmus.
Recently I bought the Correct spec, Jaso FC, Api TC, ISO-L-EGC....... but it's a full synthetic one.
@timmus Can you tell why it's so important to use only this specific half synthetic based standard and what could happen with use of other spec's, especially when they have higher specs?
Edit; found a post of "Schnelletrecker" in this topic about synthetic versus semi-synthetic.
The conclusion is that full synth produce more ashes and therefore a semi-synth is desired to prevent carbon deposit (please correct me if I'm wrong).
