A2 1.6 fsi engine number location

Hi.
The first post from a new total A2 addict.
When I bought my A2 1.6 fsi privately, I was told that the engine had been changed but the V5 hadn’t been updated with the new engine number.
I would appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction to find the engine number location.

This may help.
Engine number



The engine number (“Engine code” and “Serial number”) can be found at the joint between engine and gearbox -arrow-.
Additionally there is a sticker on the toothed belt cover showing the “engine code” and “serial number”.
The engine code is also to be found on the vehicle data sticker.
