How come he had to change ALL the parts and not only the motor?
Sorry I haven't replied sooner, this thread wasn't coming up on my system for some reason, it's academic now! Sire, congrats on your new purchase and welcome to the ever expanding club.

To answer the questions raised; originally they thought it was the motor but it turned out to be the runners as well which they had to strip back and replace hence the big bill (for the vendor at Leighton Buzzard that is).

Hope you enjoy the car.

A2 DRS:

Thank you very much!

Let's hope your Open Sky don't mess up again.

As I wrote some posts ago, the car have central locking, but there is no buttons to lock/unlock on the keys. Is it possible to get (buy) a key from a Audi dealer to be able to lock/unlock the car by remote?

Hi Sire
The remote central locking was standard in the UK so non of our club members have needed to do the conversion. I'm not sure exactly what is involved but at the very least you will need the central convenience module recoding in addition to buying new keys with the lock buttons. Check with your dealer before buying any keys off e.bay etc as they may refuse to do the coding.

New Subject.
I happened to be in Stockholm in 2001 and picked up an A2 price list from the Audi centre - see attachments (it may be of interest)

Cheers Spike

I went to the Audi dealer and they told me it's not possible to get a "remote" key for my A2 :(
