Adding Photos to Posts

That image resizer app looks great, however my Kaspersky AV (up-to-date) is auto deleting it with a 'behaviour similar to trojan' warning - is anyone else having issues with it?

All sorted now! I seem to be able to attach photos with ease, now! Thank you all for your considerable help! ...... thank you, too, "craigyb" for that excellent utility! I think that I will be attaching photos to quite a few threads in the future!

For the benefit of those who wish to add photos to their posts but don't get on with computers particularly well, here is a simple guide that I've thrown together...

Ok, so this was a bit rushed and there are some typos in the guide. Never mind.

When I say "Locate your photos here, then click the 'Save' button...", you need to navigate to the folder on your computer where you've saved your photos. When you transferred them from the digital camera, where did you put them on your hard drive?

Sorted! :D

Right, I seem to have hit a hitch (again!) I am keen to show you Guys some photos .... I have resized them successfully (thank you, craigyb) Now, I get to step 2, above, and nothing happens! The background has gone dull, but no pop-up appears! I just can't seem to access my photos! O.K., your help, please? I do recall being able to do all this before? This is rather frustrating! Oh, what is "cut and paste"? Do you mean "copy and paste"?

Hi David

That process stopped working for me last week and no matter what computer I use the "Sekect files" does nothing.

Is it like that fir anyone else?
I thought it was just a glitch on my laptop but I tried it with others and still the button does nothing.

I have been having to use the basic uploader.
And that is slow with multiple pictures.

I am afraid that I don't know what that is, either? Nice to know that I am not alone with my "problem", but I do seem to recall that others have been able to attach photo's, recently? It is a pity that Tom (Timmus) isn't on line, at the moment .... thanks, anyway, Steve ( I'm going to p.m. you in a minute) ...

Are you added to a gallery album on this site? When I added the photos of Jules last week I had to upload every file one at a time.

Go to the gallery tab.
Click My Albums
Choose an Album (or create one)
click Upload Photo (a popup dialog should appear)
find the button "Add files", upper right hand side
Choose the file from you hard drive.
repeat until you have all your photos in the album.

Once you have the photos you can either paste in links to the photos or add attachments.

To add attachments:
Click the Go Advanced button when you are composing your post.
You should see a load more toolbar buttons, one with a paperclip and file icon with a dropdown.
Click this and you can navigate to your album.
Choose the pics from your album and drag them to the blank space at the bottom of the window
ensure the checkbox on the images you want to attach are checked.
click done.

When you post your piccies will be attached to the post.

I hope ;-)

Chris

Hi,

The basic uploader is shown on the bottom right of the second image that Tom posted.

If you click on that you will then be able to upload a picture to a post.

The method that Tom has demonstrated is the best way to upload pictures to posts, so hopefully the "select files" option will be fixed.

Could pone of the administrators have a look at this problem please?
