Anyone owned or can give advice on the Mercedes V-class 220cdi?

Different car I know, but as an owner of a current Mazda 6 2.0 petrol sport-nav, I can vouch for the driving experience which is excellent and (in my case) is coupled to a slick 6 speed manual. Most variants come well equipped for the money; there are many standard items that you'd be ticking options boxes for in the VAG range or paying a premium used. Fuel economy in the 6 has been outstanding; returning 48mpg fully loaded on a trip to Torquay last year. From experience the German manufacturers have the upper hand in overall build quality, but the other marques are catching up and are no longer the poor relations they once were.

Good luck with the new motor; look forward to the pics and first impression review.
