AUDI A2 1.6 FSI 2002 Throttle Body part no 036133062D seems to be discontinued

If you find a "scan buddy" ask them to use the FSI specific lable file. Only this will give accurate information.

@PlasticMac you do know that the version of software I said my mechanic had VCDS Windows Based VAG/VAS Emulator Running on Windows 10 x64 VCDS Verson Release 21.3.0 (x64) Data Version: 20210226 DS325.0. This was from a scan the mechanic did on 7th July 2021 he probably has got the 2023 update

If I got a scan on a system with this update can that data be sent to you so you can do this analysis please?

When your mechanic runs an Auto Scan in VCDS, he'll see the screen below. The line in red text shows the Labels, (lbl) file in use, it must be
"036-906-013-BAD.LBL or 036-906-013-BAD.CBL"
If the correct lbl file is not present, it will show "Redirect Fail"
An up to date engine scan is the place to start. It will not be the end, it will show what the next action should be.
Ask your mechanic to click on the "Copy Results" button at the end of the scan. This will copy the scan results to the PC's clip board, it can then be pasted into Notepad, and saved. It can then be shared here.
To share it, the scan text, (txt), file must be converted to a PDF, (as .txt files cannot be uploaded here), or copied and pasted into your next post.
Mac.
Note: This example is not an FSI, where it shows "06F-907-115-AXX.lbl" you should see "036-906-013-BAD.LBL" or "036-906-013-BAD.CBL"

Hi PlasticMac Thanks okay I understand now fully and I will get this info to you just give me a couple of days. A2Dreamer has offered to help which is very nice that you guys would help me with this thanks again and I think that as you say is a better plan than taking the car back to the mechanic him re testing it and then doing other things to the car as the car does drive and I've paid the mechanic and got the car back Regards Phil

Yes, scan, then think.
Only when you have understood what diagnostics are telling you, should the spanners come out.

First scan the engine, copy, paste, & save the result.
Clear the DTCs.
Scan the engine again, copy, paste, & save the result.
Go for a varied drive, engine load & speed. Make sure you exceed 3,000 rpm a few times.
Scan the engine again, copy, paste, & save the result.
Post results.

The oil cap check did what you would expect yeah.

Good luck, I feel you pain and await for that scan data.

Yes still battling with it I've replaced the coils and the fuel filter now after really extensive VCDS from Plasticmac and A2Dreamer who have been so helpful. It is a less expensive way of doing things to do the VCDS analysis rather than just throwing these expensive parts at it. Fortunately it doesn't seem to be the HPFP this time and I haven't got to the stage yet of a complete engine rebuild using a donor engine but can't completely rule that out and I am in the process of collecting a second hand engine.

There are no engine warning lights on the car now since I changed the Fuel Filter and the coils. The coils are very new but second hand. The Engine warning light still comes on when you turn the key in the ignition showing it still works. However when the car is running the engine light is off. I've assumed this means there are no longer any faults with the car's mechanics? Plasticmac said to me that this must be the case but so far I have not had a VDCS scan done.

Hi Philip, I think i am the one who called you this week about your car. Could you please post the VCDS scan here. It looks like you've had a world of pain with this car...

Hi

My last scan was done by my mechanic about an hour or so ago there are no faults with the car he did it free so I did not get a print out. When I wrote my last post here I was just getting ready to go up there. But why not get VDCS yourself its cheap and easy to use then every A2 car you see because as a buyer if your looking for evidence all an unscrupulous person would need to do is cancel the faults in VCDS and print whatever was wrong with there car...................saying that there is no way I know of getting an engine light to still light up at key turn position 1 to show it works then getting it to go out when you start the car I mean that is a sure tests to see if there is anything wrong.

My advice to you is buy a Toyota Corolla........you want reliability in a car that is the one......just half close your eyes as you approach the car on your driveway so as not to catch a glimpse of and let that Toaster type design motive ruin your day give that to the wife and then get my A2 for yourself the weekend! I give you good price

@PlasticMac I did put it on Autotrader and I've had 750 views and quiet and only two viewings at £3475 but its only an add for two weeks that is over Monday so I think I'll keep it. But £3475 would have been nice. I am thinking of selling my BMW though and I just got a 12 month MOT and after this experience I am a bit more skilled at writing ads

The mechanic got a VCDS with a proper matched computer and give it the all clear. The faults came up in the log but when he cleared the faults they stayed cleared.

I'd love a Corolla but its the looks of the car that's the problem. Cars I like are A2's, Q7's. BMW's and Range Rovers I think Corolla's it's just boring

What were the faults? That's important to know. Do they relate to the recent coil pack, and filter changes? Faults were previously cleared by @A2Dreamer a couple of weeks ago. So any that your mechanic cleared today were logged since then.
Mac.
