Audi driver international show 2014

Mike,

I've added my name to the calendar link and sent my £2 donation for a car pass.

Look forward to seeing you all there.

Regards,
Matt.

Just made my pitch donation but can't promise to be there as poor Elmo (yes thats what Courtney named the car!) has a broken arm (vacuum actuator). Hopefully it will be fixed in time but its not a cheap fix from what Ive read if done properly so fingers crossed.

I think that some people try to fix the arm with Araldite or similar?

I am not recommending that but it might be worth investigating?

Thanks Steve, I did have a look at doing something like that yesterday but i can't see the bottom half of the arm connected to the potentiometer and if its the manifold flaps sticking or a seized potentiometer that caused the arm to break in the first place it may well just break again and/or cause more problems. To be honest the cars running okay but its just the thought that he's not fully healthy thats worrying me.

I can't seem to get the facebook link to last years pictures to work, is anyone else having the same problem?

Hello,

I have added my name to the calendar and done my £2 donation for a car pass.

Hi all Audi driver international show is as always at Castle Combe circuit, nr Chippenham, Wilts. further details see below.

Here is a selection of my images from previous years show

no login required just enjoy. The show is the Saturday - the Friday night meal is just for those that are close or are staying at the hotel in readiness for the Saturday show.
The show follows the very simple typical car show format. With the different car clubs having pitches. These pitches are located close to the track at castle Combe in the paddock area. There are a few trade stands there to tempt the pound out your pockets. BUT THE BIG DRAW IS being Able to view the action on the track. Audi uk usually have one or two of their test pilots offering white knuckle rides around the circuit in the high performance versions of the cars. Some of the fastest modified audis also go out and are a sight to be seen and heard.
Track time is offered at £TBC per session - you need to have a helmet. If any members are interested pm me and I'll see if we can get a group session (12 a2's needed)
In the afternoon they usually offer a kids session where you can take the kids (yours or borrowed) around the circuit. At the end if the day there is usually a parade lap (in fact usually 3) where all the clubs form a line and drive the track -at a steady pace. No helmet required.
Hope this helps to entice you to come. Cheers mike

Mike,

Could I ask where the club normally meets on the morning of the show, is it a location similar to AITP such as McDonalds, or do we meet at the show?

I ask because I will be visiting some other places in Wiltshire whilst there, and would like to know if it would be best staying at the Hilton or somewhere else closer to Westbury where I will be visiting.

Regards,
Matt.

We are staying in Chippenham on the friday night (probably gone midnight by the time we get there). I assumed we would meet on site early on saturday.

Hi just to answer the question -- we meet up at d's car park just outside the village of castle Combe and a few mins from the circuit. It means we can all (read most) arrive to the pitch at the same time. Full details will be posted closer to the day.
One other question I'm getting asked is "will there be a pub meal option after the ADI show?" The answer is now yes due to so many people showing an interest. So I will post details up tonight.
Many thanks mike.

What type of pubs are you interested in? Beefeater style chain? Or country, real beer, types? I know a few that I regularly go to around swindon, maybe not so near Castle Combe..
