... there's a 14-page thread (with my settings of 40 posts per page) on the German board.
Easiest thing to do: register, go flip through
http://www.a2-freun.de/forum/showthread.php?t=26925 including the piccies, there are part numbers in there too. It's a huge thread, though
Let me see if I can find some partnumbers, hold on....

there's a *lot* more where that came from.
re: even higher than 0.645: the guys don't want to lose flexibility and if you go "too far", the gap 4-5 becomes huge. Unless you want to rev the nuts off it in fourth, I'd say something around this is the "right" way. OTOH, what you could do is check where peak power is and then at peak power / torque (i.e. optimal efficiency) make the change to fifth - work the ratios out, as it might be if you lengthened fourth fifth would go nicely.... there are also calcs on this in the thread linked above.
No, I can't do it, I have a petrol. I'd quite like to, because I don't mind dropping a cog or two to overtake and a touch longer fourth would be great for country lanes... but cruise would no longer work. And I use it a *lot*.
Re: consumption:
- Summer average is around 7.0l/100. Winter 6.3 at summer speeds and 5.8 or so at winter speeds (80km/h, summer is 100). 165/65R15 ecos on seriously light alloys would be fantastic, I could probably see 5 if I stuck to the winter limits. 'twas 5.6 at the weekend over 480km.
