Bottom half of oil dipstick is stuck

Hi Everyone,

I had purchased a new.oil dipstick from @Ami to replace the old dipstick which was broken.

I have attempted to put the new dipstick only to realise that it does not slide fully into the chamber which can only mean the bottom half km the broken dipstick is still in the chamber.

Folks - How on earth do i remove the bottom half of the dipstick. I dont have looong enough pliar.

Hi there chaps, @Ami or @Zvszvs

I have the exact same issue on my newly acquired 1.4i. Half of the dipstick is stuck somewhere along the chamber as described above.

I was just wondering what was the solution in the end? And did you get this issue resolved.

Any advise is appreciated.

All the best for 2024.

the easiest way is to suck it out with a vacuum cleaner, have done this a few time, drain oil & then use vacuum cleaner with a small hose attached to it, then switch on & see the plastic bit come out.
Hope this helps
Happy new year

Thanks Gents. I'll try to get a redundant Henry hover from a friend. 😊 worse case scenario, I will pay my mechanic a visit.
