Girl friend returned from work to report the inside door handle had stopped working. She had managed to leave the car from the passenger side. On investigating I found the release cable (Bowden Cable) had snapped. Part ordered from Edinburgh Audi on Monday, arrived Wednesday and had it fitted in about 1 1/2 hours this morning. useful guides were found here http://workshop-manuals.com/audi/a2..._door/removing_and_installing_mounting_panel/
It is a fiddly job but I managed it without taking the whole of the inner skin off, just removed the retaining bolts except the speaker and squeezed in. Found a few of the clips that hold the trim on were snapped but it seems OK now it is back together.
