CD Player Upgrade

I have an A2 with a standard CD unit, the aircon below it and then an empty dash space tray, can I replace the CD player with the larger CD, cassette, radio unit moving the aircon down to replace the tray thingy?

Not without major surgery/butchery or ideally a change or dash

Easier to swap your car with one already in.

If you can live with the look of aftermarket, I would change to a new 1 DIN headunit. Much better than any of the original Audi headunits.
