Hi all my ‘new to me’ fuel button is stuck down.
Any ideas how to realise it?

When you say "stuck down" do you mean it has literally been glued down? Does the black button move in the surround? The electrical part can not remember if the switch contacts themself flex and spring back or if there was a separate spring that resets the switch and raises the button.

The front part of the switch is in the pressed in position and will not return.
The rear part of the switch looks to be all correct and functional.

The black button does not move and is invthe depressed position.
I cannot get it to spring out..

Hmm I fear the black button is broken and no longer captive in the surround hence the glued in button. You could very gently insert a fine knife blade around the edges of the switch to see if it will gently pry off the glue. If it does come loose and is not captive then tape over the top of the button will hold it in place.

Must admit if I bought what was supposed to be a working switch I would not be impressed and would be looking for a refund.
