Fuel Filter housing

Guys,
I have a question as i am still struggling to find a new / second hand fuel filter housing for my TDI 75, i noticed in the comment from pie eyed piper that there is a metal canister type filter, but cannot find the part number for it, although i have seen them on Ebay. My question is, is this the only option? if so does anyone have the link to the part i need please?
Thanks in advance,
Spence,

Hello,
I checked 7ZAP item number 9, selected the magnifying glass icon; but the page connection is unknown.
Maybe there's one on someone's garage shelf; they may snap a picture of the part number and send it to you.

:) 👍

if you ever see something like this, you have to take the 6 digit number (127030), take the first three digits, then insert a hyphen, then the 6 digit page number within the confines of the 7zap URL structure. Thus, for a 2003 car (that my browser defaults to) :

audi.7zap.com/en/rdw/audi+a2/a2/2003-248/2/127-127030/

I too have an A2 TDI on an 05' plate that is off the road because some PO has over tightened the fuel filter housing water drain plug, stripping the threads.
Audi UK seem to have abandoned this vehicle and all the specialist car breakers burst out laughing when I ask if they have one.
Seeing is that it is just a filter, I done see why we cannot use something readily available in its entirety. Audi A3/A4 TDI for example. Anyone have any ideas?

You can either keep an eye on ebay and hope someone can sell used one or we can 3D print one. It's not that hard to 3d scan existing unit and print one out of chemical resisting plastic.

Unusual for the threads to be stripped by the plastic drain screw as it normally shears off. More likely some mickey mouse bolt arrangement was used to replace the plastic drain screw and that is what damaged the thread.

May still be worth while getting a @depronman drain screw and hope that with new seals does not leak.

Have you actually checked that the threads are damaged ? It would be the first one I have seen that is damaged. As Graham points out the screw snaps across the cross drilled hole and leaves the threaded part in the housing
It comes out by turning the broken part with a flat screwdriver
Now what ever the monkey (mechanic) did to dodge up a ‘solution’ may have damaged the threads

The thread is m10x1.5 so you could try running a plug tap into the thread to see if it will clean up

hi Spen. I am a novice. But I also have this problem and wondered whether your research has revealed an answer. I’m wondering whether there is a fundamental objection to using a fuel filter system from a more available car. If you’ve got a solution I’d be grateful for advice. Thanks
