Furious Driving recommends A2 as future classic, buy now!

What’s stopping you getting it on classic insurance? Both mine are.
I’m going to try once I have my new engine installed. I will by then have invested a few £. I also have a classic factory tow bar that is worth a few £. Floor storage box etc in a cleanish well maintained car. The slightest fault or no fault scrape would, if insurance had their way, see it taken away without a penny coming to me.
I need insurance that represents its valve to me.

I’m not so sure about the over 15 years and a value of 15,000 or over to be a classic??
In our fleet we have a series 2 1960 Land Rover….classic? A scimitar…..classic?……Datsun 120a…..classic?
Volvo Amazon….classic? None of these cars are worth anywhere near 15k.
Depends on whose definition it is: DVLA (40 years old for zero vehicle tax and mot) , HMRC (15 years old and worth min. £15,000 for inheritance tax relief, or 30 years for import duty etc relief - it's more complex than this), and Insurance companies that have their own rules (Adrian Flux says 5 years for some models).

For some years I was with Adrian Flux with Agreed Value but each year they reduced the Agreed Value. Despite the word "Agreed" there was no agreement between me and them! Finally at one renewal, I gave them a long list of similar cars sold on the A2 Club market place showing that good cars sold at much higher values within a day. But they would not budge, so I left them.

If it is minor damage then I would look to buy it back. The issue then is finding a decent body shop at a reasonable price.
